Wilhering/Munich. With more than 25 million customer lines and annual sales of more than EUR 5 billion, Telefónica Germany is one of the third largest integrated telecom providers in Germany. The company has more than 1,000 retail stores across Germany, and in 2013 successfully upgraded the POS systems in all of its stores to NTSwincash Version 12. The upgrade provided by NTS New Technology Systems not only supports conventional payment systems but also enables mobile payment using the Telefónica mPass service.
With the rollout of its new POS system, employees at O2 stores will be able to focus fully on their customers’ needs, because the new NTSwincash version enables users to manage the entire sales process more effectively, including seamlessly cross- and upselling. For customers, this means shorter wait times as the salesperson only has to enter customer details once and all the items, with the accessories to match, can be purchased in a single step.
“Thanks to detailed planning, precise preparation and clear communication, we were able to convert the O2 stores to the latest version of NTSwincash,” states Dr. Gregor Schuman, Manager of Enterprise Enabling at Telefónica Deutschland. “With the rollout of the new POS system, we have been able to avoid long wait times for customers, optimize consultations, and further improve our internal processes.”
NTSwincash, the retail management solution, allows for convenient, centralized store control and efficient merchandise management. The new POS system will also handle the order process in the future: Based on sales figures and inventories, it generates a separate order for each store. This makes point-of-sale processes such as stock management and sales transactions convenient and easy from the ground up.
