Lack of nutrition, parasites, but pesticides most of all, pose a serious threat to our local bee population. The situation could turn dire soon for these useful insects and the consequences could well prove drastic, if we take into consideration that a third of our nutritious crop plants rely on bees as a pollinator. In order for bees to be able to carry on with their important work, NTS Retail supports an initiative aiming to save the honey bee.
With media support from the local newspaper “Oberösterreichische Nachrichten” and in cooperation with the Upper Austrian association of beekeepers, NTS Retail is sponsoring two local bee hives. The funds will go directly towards supporting a bee protection project, the beehives will be maintained by a professional beekeeper.
We’re happy to be a part of this project, helping to keep a sustainable biodiversity in our region. Let’s hope for a great year for the bees and loads of honey!
